01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Washington, MO, Bob Evans at 3151 Phoenix Center Dr is a quintessential family-friendly restaurant that masterfully serves up comforting American classics with a hearty Midwestern touch. Known primarily for its inviting breakfast and family-style meals, this eatery creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere ideal for gatherings large and small, whether you’re starting your day or enjoying a relaxed dinner with loved ones.

The menu at Bob Evans is a celebration of homestyle flavors and generous portions. Their Family Meals are a perfect example, especially the Easter Celebration Hot Family Meal – a sumptuous spread featuring slow-roasted turkey, hickory-smoked ham, housemade bread & celery dressing, and luscious sides like green beans with ham, buttery corn, and mashed potatoes smothered in gravy. It’s a feast that not only satisfies the appetite but also evokes a nostalgic sense of togetherness, complete with 12 freshly baked dinner rolls and a double-crust apple pie to round out the experience. Priced for six at $109.99, it’s an unbeatable value for those seeking both quantity and quality.

For breakfast lovers, the Family-Size Breakfast options are equally enticing. The Cinnamon Roll French Toast — thick slices of battered cinnamon rolls draped in cream cheese icing and dusted with powdered sugar — instantly promises indulgence, especially when paired with farm-fresh eggs, your choice of savory breakfast meats, and crispy hash browns or fresh seasonal fruit. This meal, designed to serve up to six, costs $49.99 and is clearly a crowd-pleaser for families craving a sweet and satisfying start to their day.

Bob Evans' Dinner Bell Plates bring all-day comfort to the table, featuring dishes like Hand-Breaded Chicken Tenders served with golden French fries and coleslaw, Lemon Garlic Chicken accompanied by perfectly roasted broccoli and home fries, and the indulgent Hand-Breaded Fried Chicken paired with classic mashed potatoes and corn. The smaller portion Turkey & Dressing offers a lighter but equally flavorful option, and the Country Fried Steak lives up to its reputation as a plateful of crispy, savory goodness.

Guests consistently praise the attentive and friendly service that complements the hearty food. Servers like Sarah Hay and Margetta have been noted for their warmth and professionalism, making each visit feel personal and cared for. The dining environment is cozy without being overwhelming — one visitor appreciated the moderate music volume that allowed for easy conversation across the table, a huge plus for family gatherings.

Moreover, diners love the incredible value here. Michelle Mitchell’s experience with the late-night menu highlights just how feasible it is for a family of four to enjoy a filling, delicious meal for around $45, with children actually finishing their plates — a rare feat that speaks volumes about the quality and appeal of the food.

If your craving leans towards a classic breakfast or a wholesome home-cooked dinner served in a relaxed, family-oriented space, Bob Evans in Washington is a must-visit spot. Prepare to indulge in flavors that comfort and meals that bring everyone to the table with smiles.

Our waitress ( Margetta ) was very helpful and polite. She made the experience delightful. We loved that the music was not loud, so we could carry on a conversation with our family.

Late night dinner and my first time eating here. It was amazing. Breakfast all day and so many options for kids. REALLY REALLY good food and GREAT value. A family of 4 could eat for just over $45 and the kids actually ate all their food and were full!!!! That alone is a win.

Great breakfast! I forgot how much I enjoy chicken fried steak and gravy. I also really liked the grits with a little butter and honey. The food came out quickly and was hot. The coffee was weak and almost like dirty water, which I didn't enjoy, but I didn't come here expecting gourmet coffee. Our waitress Shirley was very kind and great at communicating with us. The environment allowed my friend and me to have a normal conversation. I use to come to Bob Evans after church with my grandparents when they were still alive, today's breakfast brought back the nostalgia and loving feelings. What a wonderful morning.
